‘Big Data!’ The latest buzz word and the topic of a multitude of articles, essays and blog posts. Everyone knows they should be harnessing the power of big data, but how much are businesses really capitalising on this wealth of information?

One major challenge is analysing the story behind the data, and relaying the results in human terms, which is fundamental to a meaningful interpretation.  However, this  requires a ‘human aspect’ which automated data analysis processes cannot currently offer. Or so we thought. HBR’s recent blog post identifies that human interpretation can actually be incorporated into automated systems, exploiting big data’s full potential with minimal effort.
