Visual Identity and Investor Pitch for Alexi

The client: Alexi, a wholly curated app for discovering and engaging with great books. Updated weekly, the app’s guest curators, including world famous authors and thinkers, compile lists of recommended books based around different themes. So you can discover new books that suit your mood and interest.

The challenge: Alexi came to us at a very early stage in their development. To help them gain investment and partners for the technical development phase, they needed to create a strong visual identity and a compelling investor pitch.

Our approach: Our team worked closely with Alexi to understand the target audience, both in terms of users of the app and potential partners and investors. We also conducted wide ranging secondary research into the e-reader market to build a clear picture of who we were trying to connect with.

Our solution: Based on the research and insight of the Alexi team, we developed a stunning new identity that distilled the brand visually, and worked equally well as a logo and app button. We then began work designing the investor pitch, using our streamlined pitch structure to create a clear narrative to persuade and engage investors. We also created mock ups of how the app would look once developed to help investors get a clear picture of what Alexi were trying to achieve.

The results: Alexi successfully found the partners and investments they needed to move to the next stage of development. They have now launched the Beta version of the app.
