Micha Weidmann Studio, one of our Collective partners, has rebranded the legendary Truman’s Beer.
Truman’s was founded in 1666 when Brick Lane was just a track flanked by fields. The brewery grew as East London grew. Truman’s was once the biggest brewer in the world. Its history is a classic story of rise and fall. The rise lasted for over two hundred years, the fall was over in half. Truman’s was made great through good beer, strong principles, hard work and a bit of luck. It was undone when these were compromised and in 1989 the brewery and the pubs were sold and Truman’s was closed.
Thankfully, the name remained. Truman’s is still seen on many local pub walls and the old brewery has become East London’s creative heart.
In 2010, Truman’s was restarted by two local beer enthusiasts. It has a new beer, a new eagle and it’s on the rise once more.
